“Alyson Hannigan has stated she wouldn’t appear in the proposed new Buffy the Vampire Slayer film because Joss Whedon isn’t involved with the project. Earlier this year it emerged that a new film version of Buffy was in the works but it did not involve Joss Whedon and was not a sequel to the television series.
Instead the project was a complete reboot of the franchise with the idea that it would be the first in a series of films. Unsurprisingly fans did not meet the prospect of a Whedon-free Buffy warmly and Alyson Hannigan seems to agree with them.
“Yeah, that’s a very big mistake in my opinion. I mean if Joss isn’t involved, it’s only the title. Joss is the only reason that we would go back. I mean, it’s just ridiculous to think of that TV show without Joss.” said Alyson Hannigan during an interview with Cinema Blend.”
